Description

An original 1st press of the DEBUT from 1973 on EMI. Matrix 5/5. Etching 'Blair Rules!'. Note how the side indicators on the label are vertical [not horizontal]. Original 1st pressings of the debut are not so easy to find - as it didn't enter the top 40 originally [only retrospectively]. Given the period - this Lp is pressed on really nice solid vinyl. The vinyl comes housed in an original non-laminated over with pinched spine - and double spine. These 1st issues are incredibly difficult to find in anything approaching decent condition. Also included is the generic EMI inner sleeve you get on mid seventies records. So, we're 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) In beautiful condition and has only seen light use. Check out those label shots! Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of very lightest marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. And this is both hard to find and very important on this title. You're going to need a clean player otherwise the quieter moments will soon become distracting. Lovely and clean into those acoustic/instrumental sections. Think 'Liar' etc...truly breath-taking clarity. I'm struggling to find fault. All I could detect was a couple of crackles in a couple of brief moments per side.  A beautiful rendition you would have a hard time even getting close to this level.<<<<
Cover (Ex) A total pain to find in even half decent condition. The unlaminated 1st issues are really difficult to find without surface wear. But this example is looking very fine indeed without the usual creasing or surface wear.  The rear looks absolutely superb with no signs of wear or fading. Edge wear is extremely minor indeed and this is unusual. The openings are still sharpish and the spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Minimal ageing. No splits.
