Description

An original 1st press of the DEBUT from 1973 on EMI. Matrix 5/5. Etching 'Blair Rules!'. Note how the side indicators on the label are vertical [not horizontal]. Original 1st pressings of the debut are not so easy to find - as it didn't enter the top 40 originally [only retrospectively]. Given the period - this Lp is pressed on really nice solid vinyl. The vinyl comes housed in an original non-laminated over with pinched spine - and double spine. These 1st issues are incredibly difficult to find in anything approaching decent condition. 
Vinyl (Ex+) In beautiful condition and has only seen light use. Check out those label shots! Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of very lightest marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback with one very slight deviation. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. And this is both hard to find and very important on this title. You're going to need a clean player otherwise the quieter moments will soon become distracting. Lovely and clean into those acoustic/instrumental sections. Think 'Liar' etc...'Doing Alright' ..truly breath-taking clarity. All I could detect was a couple of crackles in a couple of brief moments per side. In addition there was a couple of very slight ticks during LIAR.  A beautiful rendition and you'd be hard pushed to even get close to this level. One of the best copies I've witnessed...Highly recommended!
Cover (Ex) A total pain to find in even half decent condition. The unlaminated 1st issues are really difficult to find without surface wear. But this example is looking very very fine indeed with very little creasing or surface wear. The rear looks absolutely superb with minimal signs of wear or fading [way better than what typically surfaces]. Edge wear is extremely slight which is very unusual. Four pointy corners. The openings are still sharp and the spine [both] are 100% intact. Overall the cover retains perfet rigidity. Wowzer!
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing. No splits.
