Description

An original 1st press of the DEBUT from 1973 on EMI. Matrix 5/5. Etching 'Blair Rules!'. Note how the side indicators on the label are vertical [not horizontal]. Original 1st pressings of the debut are not so easy to find - as it didn't enter the top 40 originally [only retrospectively]. The vinyl comes housed in an original non-laminated cover with double spine. These 1st issues are incredibly difficult to find in anything approaching decent condition. Also included is the EMI inner sleeve too. So, we're 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex) In lovely condition and has only seen the light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of light marks per side - seemingly nothing troublesome though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT level of playback with two very slight deviations. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. And this is both hard to find and very important on this title. You're going to need a clean player otherwise the quieter moments will soon become distracting. Lovely and clean into those acoustic/instrumental sections. Think 'Liar' etc.... I'm struggling to pick out anything undesirable. All I could detect was a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated spots per side. And one isolated click in 'Doing All Right' and one tick in 'Fairy King'. This example will delivery you a super rendition of Queen's debut so it can be fully appreciated.
Cover (Vg+) A total pain to find in even half decent condition. The unlaminated 1st issues are really difficult to find without surface wear. But this example is still very well preserved. The front and rear are relatively clear of surface wear. There is, however, a sticker removal mark above the 'n' of Queen on the front. I have blended it in pretty well - so it doesn't stand out too much. Edge wear is very light....which is good to see. The openings are still sharp and the spine [both] are 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. Sweet!
Inner (Ex) Hardly any ageing. No splits.
