Description
This first press of The Works is in wonderful condition for its age. Visually it is stunning with barely a hairline to see. I would say it has been hardly played such is the quality of the audio, certainly one of the best I have heard.
Side One plays superbly well with no lead in static and just a hint of crackle during the whole playback. It plays with a rich, deep audio you only get with vinyl. 'Radio Ga Ga' and 'It's A Hard Life' play particularly well with great sound during the quieter sections.
Side Two plays similarly with almost no interference at all. If I'm bring ultra critical perhaps just a little static here and there but nothing obtrusive at all. I think the great test is how well 'Is This The World Created..?' plays being such a quiet track and an end track also. I'm pleased to say it passes with flying colours! There is almost no background noise at all, a stunning listen. It would be hard to find a better first press vinyl than this one, it is in great condition for over 30 years old.
The cover is in great shape also. The edges are extremely clean as is the spine and it only has minimal shelf wear on the bottom opening edge but really is only very minor. It's almost Near Mint if I'm honest. The lyric inner (with curved corners) is 'as new' and has no wear or splits at all.
