Queen : The Works A2 / B1 1st Press in Shrinkwrap

This first pressing plays with stunning clarity and depth and is still encased within the original shrinkwrap.  It is only the opening edge that has been opened although the dealer I purchased this from insisted it had never been played before.  I have no reason to doubt this having listened in full to each track.

The cover and lyric inner are also in perfect condition.  This album has been beautifully preserved over the last 36 years.

 Visual grading

The vinyl is visually stunning and retains a lovely glossy sheen.  There are no scratches on either side, as you would expect, and track two on S1 has only a couple of very faint 'specks' that has no affect on the stunning audio.  There is no spindle wear and the run grooves and labels are immaculate.

Play grading

As you would expect from an unplayed vinyl and one that has been so well preserved down the years the audio quality is stunning.  S1 is 'as new' apart from one faint click at the end of 'Radio Ga Ga' which I am sure is caused by a pressing fault as there is nothing on the vinyl to suggest a cause.  I have listened to every track in its entirety and the clarity and definition could not be improved upon.  'It's A Hard Life' plays beautifully and 'Tear It Up' plays loud and true with no interference and even 'Man On Fire' has no distortion which is a rarity for this track.

S2 is of the same 'high end' standard and from the very start 'Machines' plays with exceptional quality.  It is absolutely stunning and is without doubt the strongest version I have heard in years.  It is Mint in every sense of the word.  'I Want To Break Free' and 'Keep Passing The Open Windows' are equally as good, the clarity and depth could not be any better.  'Hammer To Fall' is such a strong version and there are no clicks or pops and barely any distortion.  'Is This The World We Created...?' is so impressive in that for such a quiet final track there is no interference and is undoubtedly one of the 'cleanest' versions I have ever listened to.

In summary this previously unplayed record plays as it should, with wonderful clarity and definition.  This is a FINAL UPGRADE album i.e. you will not need to find another as this one is immaculate from start to finish!  There are not many albums of this age that are still enclosed within their original shrinkwrap and the cover and lyric inner are quite simply in beautiful condition. 

The Cover

The cover is in fantastic condition and has no shelf wear at all, I have never seen better.  It is still enclosed within the original shrinkwrap except for the opening edge of course.  The 'shrink' has no splits and totally encloses the whole cover and I am pleased to say the edges, spine and corners have suffered no damage in the intervening years.  A perfect and rare example of this 1984 album.

In a word...stunning!  It is Mint in every way and has hardly ever been handled!

The Labels

They are both in superb condition with no marking or writing and no spindle wear.
