Description

The Miracle A1/B2 (1st Pressing)

This first pressing plays to a standard that is rarely heard today.  The audio is so 'clean' and there is only one click across the entire record!  The previous owner advised me that it had only ever been played once or twice and indeed there is some vinyl 'flecking' around the spindle hole supporting that view.

This is also one of the most impressive examples of this iconic cover that you will find and the lyric inner is 100% perfect.

 PCSD 107 // A - 1U / B - 2U

The audio on S1 is Mint- (track 2 fade out is Ex)

The audio on S2 is Mint- (track 1 intro Ex+ / track 4 intro Ex)

The cover is Near Mint

The lyric inner is Mint

The labels are Mint-

Visual grading

This vinyl is very clean with no scratches and retains a very healthy glossy sheen.  There are a small number of hairline marks on S1 but they have no affect on the stunning quality of the audio.  S2 is even more impressive and has only one hairline that looks a little more obvious.  As stated there is barely any spindle wear and the labels and run out grooves are extremely clean.

Play grading

'Party' starts S1 with superb audio and can only be described as Mint the clarity and depth is 'high end'.  In fact the definition of every note really is so impressive here.  On certain records the clarity is off the scale - what do I mean?  Well on a vinyl that has only been played once maybe twice at most the separation is better i.e. each note is even clearer and there is no 'muddiness' on the playback, more 'sound' if you will.

The seque into 'Khashoggi's Ship' is perfect and then plays to the same standard as the preceding track bar 3/4 static ticks on the fade out.

'The Miracle' also has a couple of faint static ticks on the intro but in no way are they intrusive.  From then on it plays with a depth and warmth that is so rarely heard on these first pressings.  There is no interference of any kind, not even a dust tick, and the guitar solo leading into the final section is so powerful and the strong bass works as the perfect accompaniment.  This '...we can all be friends' section then plays with sublime Mint quality to the very end with no 'background' on the fade out either.  Stunning!

'I Want It All' plays with immaculate power and clarity from the very first note.  Having played every second of this classic I can confidently say it qualifies as Mint the playback has the wow factor!  There is no distortion on the top end which is very impressive.  It 'rocks out' loud and true and again the guitar solo towards the end is just astounding!  There is no interference from start to finish, no clicks or pops and not static or crackle either.

'The Invisible Man' ends the side with fantastic audio once more.  As anyone knows the bass is so prevalent on this track and when you find a first pressing that has been hardly played this bass 'sound' is strong and plays incredibly well.  Not forgetting Taylor's drums of course as it is basically his track!  There are perhaps 2/3 second of light distortion on one section although perhaps I am being too critical!  A truly stunning version and no 'background' on the fade out at all.  How rare is that on any final track?!

---------------------------------------------------------------------

The intro on 'Breakthru' is one of the 'cleanest' I have heard in a long time.  This intro is often affected by a fair amount of 'background' but there is only a minimal amount of mega light static here and there.  Not crackle!  The remainder of the track plays almost without fault, just one faint 'tick' towards the end.  Again there is no distortion on the top end and it opens up S1 in very impressive fashion.

'Rain Must Fall' plays with immaculate quality from start to finish and qualifies as Mint- I am pleased to say.  A bold statement to make but I know what I'm doing now when it comes to grading records!  A stunning strong bass line of course that plays with incredible depth and there is no interference of any kind unless you count a small number of light ticks on the fade out as interference!

The slow build up on the 'Scandal' intro as we all know will often display some static/crackle but there are only 3/4 mega light dust ticks here, the playback is sensational!  Thereafter this unheralded classic plays with superb definition and no 'background' at all.  Again I am confident in grading this as Mint- the sonic quality could scarcely be any better.  The fade out also plays nigh on perfectly with only a couple of dust ticks.

'My Baby Does Me' has one click right at the start of the intro and then plays with wonderful quality for the remainder.  The clarity is of a vinyl pressed only yesterday not nearly 30 years ago!  Aside from that 'imperfection' at the start this is a stunning version of this bass heavy track and the fade out is absolutely stunning!

The intro on 'Was It All Worth It' is again susceptible to interference so I am glad to say this one is mega impressive with not even an obvious dust tick!  A superb start.  The first guitar section is just mind-blowing and plays with supreme power and depth and no distortion.  Wow!  As the vocal comes in there is no deterioration in quality and this Mint quality continues.  Final tracks on any side often play with distortion, especially one as loud as this but thus far there is none here whatsoever.  The power is all encompassing and this is without doubt one of the most stunning versions of this classic that I have ever listened to.  The guitar solo followed by the 'orchestral' section could not play any better!  There is perhaps just a hint of distortion towards the end but it is very minimal.  The guitar end section is so strong and the quiet keyboard section then ends the album with fantastic clarity.

In summary this A1/B2 first pressing is very close to a final upgrade archive grading.  With barely any interference the audio plays to a great standard and will not disappoint.  As stated this has only been played a couple of times and the clarity reflects that.  The cover is also one of the most impressive I have ever seen and the lyric inner is Mint in every way.

The Cover

This cover is in superb condition with only very minor shelf wear and is one of the most impressive you will find today.  The edges are in near perfect condition with only a couple of very small rubs and the same can be said for the thin pinched spine, they really are very clean.  What is immediately obvious is the lack of corner wear with just the bare minimum of 'rub' - they are rarely found this clean.  The opening edge is also untouched and in perfect order.  The front cover is in fantastic shape with only one mega small white mark bottom left by the edge, it is not a tear!  The back cover has no marking of any kind.  This is great example of this iconic cover.

The Lyric Inner

This is in stunning condition and is 'as new' with marking or creasing and no side splits.  It is absolutely Mint!

The labels

They are in fantastic shape with barely any spindle wear as stated.  There are no markings or writing to be seen.
