This is the truly rare and genuine 1st press of ‘Queen’ by Queen. It is complete with the very earliest YAX 4623-3U / 4624-2U matrix with the standard Huggypoo Kiss etched in the runout, but it also has the 'Off With His Head’ text etched into the wax on Side 2. We have had a few 3U/3U presses over the years but this is the rare 3U/2U Off With His Head press. The vinyl is complete with the original company inner sleeve and matt Garrod & Lofthouse sleeve.
The vinyl is in Very Good+ condition. It has a sensational gloss, there is no whitening or signs of heavy play at all. There are just a couple of the lightest hairlines and a couple of small very light marks. The label is completely clean. The colour is solid and unworn, the text is sharp and there is only the slightest spindle wear. The vinyl lies completely flat on the turntable and from the moment it begins it is exceptionally rich and vibrant.
The Garrod & Lofthouse sleeve is in Very Good+ condition. There is the slightest wear to the opening edge and corners but otherwise it is superb. The colours are like new, the picture is sharp and the edges are solid. The spine is firm with clear text.
