Queen : Made In Heaven A2 / B2 (Cream Vinyl)

This is one of the finest examples of this limited edition LP from 1995 that I have ever seen or heard.  The clarity and definition is stunning and is a FINAL UPGRADE archive album for certain.  The vinyl has never been played before today - it is from the same owner who had the Absolute Greatest vinyl box set that I am also selling.  He assured me this particular album had never been on a turntable.

Not only that but the gatefold is near pristine and so rarely seen as good as this today.  The lyric inner and the three posters are also in perfect order.  The advertising leaflet is also included as is the original £8.99 receipt from 1995!

The album has been beautifully preserved and any avid collector would be highly impressed with this 'package'.

This vinyl is in stunning condition and is 'as new' I am confident in saying.  There are no marks or scratches and all I can detect is one very faint sleeve removal hairline on S1.  It has a beautifully glossy sheen and as per any unplayed record has no spindle wear at all.  A fantastic example.

Play grading  

The first thing that stands out is how well the opening track plays.  So often the opening few grooves on 'It's A Beautiful Day' play with a fair amount of static/crackle but the clarity here is incredibly good.  There is no obvious static on the intro and there are only a couple of faint crackle sounds prior to the vocal.  From then on it plays 'as new' with no 'background' at all not even on the fade out.

'Made In Heaven' plays with stunning clarity from the word go and there is only one faint crackle the intro.  The audio is then faultless for the remainder, a fantastic version.  The clarity and depth is equal to that of an unplayed vinyl which of course it was prior to my play testing!

'Let Me Live' is Mint from start to finish and the classic 'Mother Love' also plays with sublime quality.  The clarity on this relatively quiet track is so impressive and again there is no interference.  I cannot stress enough how fantastically well it plays and it is easily the 'cleanest' version I have heard in many a year.

The closing track on the side 'My Life Has Been Saved' is of the same impeccable standard with not one click or pop and no static or crackle either.  Pure Mint audio from the first note to the last.

'I Was Born To Love You' again plays with amazing clarity from the very first groove and there are only 3/4 mega light static sounds on the intro.  Thereafter it plays with astounding power and depth and yes, you guessed it, no interference of any kind.  Audio does not get better than this!

Once more the quiet intro on 'Heaven For Everyone' is equal to that of a vinyl pressed only yesterday and not nearly 25 years ago!  The precision of the audio throughout is 'high end' and again this infinitely deserves a Mint grading.

'Too Much Love Will You' has only a couple of dust ticks on the intro and then plays with stunning audio.  This is as close to perfection that you will find and again I am hugely impressed by the clarity on offer here.  Of course there are so many quiet sections and yet there is no intrusion on the audio whatsoever.  A breathtaking version that impresses on every level - wow!  There are 3/4 light ticks on the fade out but they are not intrusive.

'You Don't Fool Me' is perfect from start to finish.  The audio is so strong and the bass is so prevalent here.  Another Mint track without question. 

The classic 'A Winter's Tale' begins in fine fashion with no interference and continues in the same way.  A stunning version that is easily one of the finest I have ever heard.

The reprise of 'It's A Beautiful Day' again often has static or worse on the intro but not here!  The playback cannot be faulted, there is not even a dust tick!  As it progresses there is no decrease in quality and to the very end it plays with remarkable power and no intrusion.  Quite simply a fantastic end to this beautifully clean vinyl.  If you leave the needle on the record the final 'note' also plays with superb precision giving you just another indication of the incredible clarity on offer.

In summary this FINAL UPGRADE album is a real time warp classic.  I have no reason to doubt that it had never been played before such is the quality of the audio.  The clarity, depth and warmth of the recording is certainly equal to that of an unplayed vinyl.  It may only be 24 years old but as any collector knows it is actually quite difficult to find a 'clean' version of this original first pressing today and this is up there with the best I have ever heard.  There is barely any static and there is not one single click or pop!  It impresses on every level and also has a super clean gatefold plus all the inserts are in sublime condition.

The Gatefold

This iconic cover is in fantastic condition with no obvious shelf wear at all.  The edges and wide spine have no rubbing and the corners have also been remarkable well preserved with barely any wear.  The opening edges have no handling wear as you would expect.  The front cover is so clean and the only negative (if you can call it that!) is one mega tiny 'nick' by the opening edge close to the top right corner.  Howevere, it is so minor and not all obvious - most sellers would not even mention it!  The back cover is spotless and in perfect order and the inside of the gatefold is in immaculate condition.  The cover is also very strong and robust which again provides further confirmation that it has hardly ever been held.  This is a stunning example of this cover and it has lost none of its original colour.

The glossy inner is pristine with no side splits or marking of any kind.  100% perfect!

The Labels, Booklet & Price Receipt!

They are immaculate with no marking or writing and no spindle wear as stated.  The mini advertising booklet is near perfect with just one tiny mark on the edge.  The original price receipt is in perfect condition :-)

Play tested on my Pro-Ject Essential III Turntable / B&W 684 Speakers
