Queen : Made In Heaven A2/B2 1st Press Black Vinyl Limited Edition (Complete)
This original black vinyl Limited Edition album from 1995 plays to a wonderful standard with only a little static on the first track intro. The rest of the album is 'as new' I can confidently say having played every track in full. The sonic quality is exceptional and this may well be the finest example of this very rare vinyl that I have ever sold.
I am sure the previous owner told me that it had never been played before and this would not surprise judging by the audio and that there is no spindle wear on the labels. This is of course even rarer than the cream vinyl version (I am selling one of those also) as it was pressed in far fewer numbers and is all the more collectable because of it.
The iconic cover is in excellent condition with only minor wear and three posters are practically 'as new' with only one tiny corner crease on one of them. The lyric inner (with the 'Heaven For Everyone' lyrics) is pristine.
I will again not put a very high 'buy it now' price on it, I will just let the 'market' take its course which may be a little risky!

Visual grading
The vinyl is in beautiful condition and still has an immaculate jet-black glossy sheen with no marks or scratches at all. Under a strong light I can only find a small number of very faint sleeve removal hairlines which obviously do not impact on the stunning quality of the audio. It really does have a superb glossy 'look' and as stated I suspect this has never been played before judging by the audio and zero spindle wear. The run out grooves are super clean and only the S2 label has one of those marks near the spindle hole which occur during the pressing process, they are quite common.
Play grading
The quiet intro on 'It's a Beautiful Day' always has some static or crackle and is unavoidable in my opinion, it is just symptomatic with the '95 pressing - cream or black. However, it is minimal here and once the piano comes in the audio cannot be faulted. The first vocal is so 'clean' and the remainder is of the same standard with only a small number of barely audible dust ticks on the end section. The intro is Ex for only 15 seconds and the rest qualifies as Mint- it is that good.'Made In Heaven' plays with stunning quality from the first groove to the last with no sign of any interference. Having played it in full (as I always do) I can confirm there is not even a single dust tick and Mint is very much deserved.
I am pleased to say 'Let Me Live' is of the same 'high end' standard with no intrusion of any kind. In essence this is 'shop fresh' and plays as well as it would have done when first released in '95. Mint
The percussive intro on 'Mother Love' is 'as new' and it continues to play with incredible precision. There is no 'background' and the sonic quality throughout is outstanding. There is not so much as a dust tick and for this relatively quiet track to play so clearly is a genuine rarity. Every vocal including the baby (!) plays to perfection and Mint is an easy grade to give. It's incredible to think this was the last song Freddie recorded when you consider how strong and clear his voice still is.
The final track 'My Life Has Been Saved' plays with wonderful quality once more. For once there is no inner groove distortion and the playback is 'crystal clear' with literally no intrusion. A Mint finish to the side.

'I Was Born To Love You' plays with superb power and depth...and no interference. No need to prevaricate this is Mint from start to finish.
The quiet intro on 'Heaven For Everyone' is faultless and from then on plays as well as the other tracks! Again it's the depth of the audio that is so impressive and it is patently obvious this album has hardly ever been played. Mint
The classic 'Too Much Love Will Kill You' begins perfectly with an intro that has no 'background' and it proceeds to play with breathtaking clarity and definition. This is the definitive version as it just could not play any better. Each note is so sharply defined and it has that CD like aesthetic quality but without the warmth and depth that only vinyl can bring. It is STUNNING in every way and even the 'heartbeat' fade out is flawless. This is MINT and then some!
'You Don't Fool Me' also plays with a clarity, depth and richness that you just cannot fault. It may be a very 'produced' album but there is no denying the sonic quality on offer here. Mint
I am now running out of superlatives for this incredible album but suffice to say 'A Winter's Tale' plays with impeccable precision with no interference of any kind. 'As new' is no exaggeration - it plays with such delicate precision in the quieter moments and with great power and depth on the top end with no distortion of any kind. Yep another Mint track!
The quiet intro on the 'It's A Beautiful Day' reprise plays beautifully with not even a dust tick and the first vocal is of the same standard also. As the tempo increases the power and depth of the audio is so strong and you would not think this was the final 'track' on the album as there is no distortion at all. A stunning Mint end to this classic album.
In summary this very rare album plays to a sensational standard and not withstanding the minor static on the first track intro the audio is 'as new' without a doubt. You could not wish to find a first pressing that plays with such incredible clarity and definition and I suspect it had never been played prior to my play testing. Bar the first one every intro and fade out plays with such precision and even the dead wax between tracks is near perfect with only a couple of minor ticks. This is a FINAL UPGRADE album in my opinion i.e. no need to purchase another as you could not find better audio than this! I have only sold about three of four of these black vinyl pressings in about 10 years and this is most definitely the most impressive.
The Gatefold, Posters & Lyric Inner
The cover is in excellent condition with only a little shelf wear. The top edges are very clean with only minimal rubbing (there is just one very small area that is a little obvious) and the bottom edges just have a little more rubbing, nothing major though. The wide spine is in superb shape with only a small amount of wear on the corners and the right hand corners have only minimal wear. The opening edges are pristine as you would expect them to be and the front cover is near perfect with only a couple of tiny specks top right. The back cover is equally as good and the inside of the gatefold is beautifully clean with only one barely visible 'rub' on the bottom edge. A fine example overall.
The three posters are almost 'as new' with only one very small corner crease on the John one. There is no marking or spotting on the reverse of any of them which is a rarity. I would say they have hardly every been removed from the cover!
The lyric inner is in perfect condition with no side splits or tears and no creasing either.
Play tested on my Pro-Ject Essential III Turntable / B&W 684 Speakers
