Description

 QUEEN DEBUT LP

I'm offering Queen's debut album released in 1973 by Elektra Records. A test pressing. In stereo. Inscribed in the Matrix runout on side A is EKS-75064 and ESN-TD 7-31-73. On side B is BR-TD 8-10-73 and EKS-75064. Length: 38:46, 10 songs. In its original all black jacket and all white sleeve. I've owned this since it came out and have never played it. This has been stored upright in my album rack in my home. I worked in the entertainment business here in Hollywood and got a lot of records for free. Sometimes duplicates. It's in mint condition. The jacket is in very good condition. Sleeve inside is in mint condition. Included is a sheet of paper with the band's bio, song titles, images, and album review. Also get a photo of the band printed on a sheet of paper measuring 8½"x11". Combine auctions and save on shipping.

Queen was their debut studio album. Released on 13 July 1973 by EMI Records in the UK and by Elektra Records in the US, it was recorded at Trident Studios and De Lane Lea Music Centre, London, with production by Roy Thomas Baker, John Anthony, and the band members themselves. It peaked at #83 on the US Billboard 200 and #32 on the UK album charts. The album was influenced by heavy metal and progressive rock. The lyrics are based on a variety of topics, including folklore ("My Fairy King") and religion ("Jesus"). Lead singer Freddie Mercury wrote five of the ten tracks, lead guitarist Brian May wrote four songs (including "Doing All Right", which he co-wrote with Tim Staffell while in the band Smile), and drummer Roger Taylor both wrote and sang "Modern Times Rock and Roll". The final song on the album is a short instrumental version of "Seven Seas of Rhye", the full version of which would appear on the band's second album, Queen II. ©Wikipedia   .

This record in its jacket with 2 sheets weighs 6½ ounces. The jacket with the record inside will be wrapped in plastic, sealed, and placed between two ¼"-thick, sturdy sheets of corrugated cardboard. On the outside I'll boldly write: HANDLE WITH CARE and KEEP OUT OF SUN. This brings the weight to 1 pound. Consider these options for shipping:

Media Mail, 2-10 days, is $4.30; Parcel Post Mail, up to 10 days, is $11.90; and Priority Mail with free insurance, 2-3 days, is $13.85. The package will be sent immediately after receipt of payment.
