Queen : Live Killers Double LP (Japan) Red/Green Vinyl

This highly collectable double vinyl LP plays with immaculate audio and has only had one play maximum.  The 'whole package' is stunning.  The gatefold is in superb condition as are the inner sleeves, the lyric inner and the Obi.  Superb!

Visual grading

I have never seen better!  Both vinyls have a beautiful glossy sheen that is visually stunning.  There are no hairlines or scratches and the green vinyl has perhaps never been played, there is no spindle wear at all.  The S3 label has only one tiny barely visible spindle trace so has only been played once I would say.  They have always been housed in anti-static sleeves and with super clean run out grooves also you will not find better.  Stunning 'as new' vinyls without doubt.

Play grading  

S1 plays with immaculate throughout.  There is no lead in static on the opening grooves and 'We Will Rock You' then plays with sublime quality.  Indeed this track and other louder ones such as 'Let Me Entertain You' have no distortion and the power and depth of the sound is superb.  The quieter sections are equal to this with 'Get Down Make Love' being a prime example.  There is no interference on this side at all and rarely have I heard this LP play with such breathtaking clarity.  This is Mint audio of the highest calibre and provides further evidence that this record has perhaps never been played.  S2 plays with the same breathtaking quality.  There is no 'background' on the spoken intro and 'Now I'm Here' then plays 'as new', the sonic quality is stunning.  The true test of any vinyl is how well the quieter tracks perform and 'Dreamer's Ball' and 'Love Of My Life' play with 100% perfect precision.  This is just awesome audio!  Every track on this side plays to the same exacting Mint standard and for coloured vinyl to play with such impressive clarity is a rarity.  This vinyl has no clicks, pops, static or crackle and quite simply it plays 'as new'.  I have never heard better on this collectable album

S3 continues in the same way with exceptional clarity.  There are 3/4 barely audible dust ticks on the 'Don't Stop Me Now' intro and then plays with superb quality and no interference.  This louder and more raw version is stunning from start to finish.  'Spread Your Wings' is another classic example of an unplayed vinyl with no hint of any interference anywhere.  This is also true on 'Brighton Rock' which plays with fantastic power and depth.  Of course there are many quiet sections on this 'longer' live version and yet the clarity is just of the highest quality, it is absolutely stunning!  This is the 'cleanest' version of this classic I have ever heard on this Japanese pressing and even the loud end section has no distortion.  This is why we listen to vinyl!  S4 again impresses in the same way.  From the first note 'Bohemian Rhapsody' plays with impeccable quality.  A handful of barely audible dust ticks but near perfect audio nonetheless.  There is no intrusive interference and the quiet end section plays with superb precision.  Once again every track on this side plays to the same 'high end' standard and 'Tie Your Mother Down' and 'Sheer Heart Attack' both 'rock out' with incredible power and no distortion at all.  'We Will Rock You' and 'We Are The Champions' end this spectacular album with first class clarity and audio quality that cannot be beaten.  Wow what an album!

In summary this is the most impressive Japanese 'Live Killers' I have ever heard and is without doubt a final upgrade archive version.  The audio is just perfect!  With no interference the audio is of a superlative standard and as a 'package' it is stunning - the gatefold, inners, lyric sleeve and Obi are all in superb condition.

The Gatefold

This gatefold is in beautiful condition and quite possibly the cleanest I have ever seen.  The edges and wide spine are incredibly clean with no rubbing and the opening edges have no handling wear either.  There is just one mega small corner crease on the bottom right corner of the front cover but aside from that it is perfection all the way!  The front and back cover have no marking and the inside of the gatefold is also immaculate.  If you want a 'Live Killers' gatefold that is practically Mint then this is the one to own!  The Obi is near perfect with no marking or creasing, just one very tiny tear on the left side.

The Lyric sleeve & Inner sleeves

The LP sized fold out lyric sleeve (lyrics in Japanese and English) is in pristine condition with no marking or creasing at all, I have never seen better.  The red and green inner sleeves are in near perfect condition with only a minor amount of ringwear which you can't avoid anyway.

The labels

In superb condition they are practically 'as new'.  There is no marking or writing and there are only two tiny barely visible spindle lines on the S3 label.
