Queen : Live At Wembley '86 2LP

This now rare and very collectable double album from 1992 is without question the finest example I have ever sold.  Not only does the audio play incredibly well but the gatefold is easily the 'cleanest' I have ever seen.  Just to confirm this is the UK edition of this classic album and not the German release.

The vast majority plays to a superb Mint standard with only minimal static on a couple of intros.  The power and depth of the music is stunning, it really is so impressive.  The vinyls are visually in superb condition and have hardly been played of that I am certain.

This is such a rare album today and even more rare to find as good as this!  I'm sure it would impress any avid Queen collector.

The definition and power of the audio across all four sides is nothing short of spectacular!  I have listened to every track and I can honestly say I have never heard a finer example of this now rare double album.  From 'One Vision' to the usual encore 'We Are The Champions' the audio is stunning in every way.  There is just a minimal amount of very light static at the beginning of 'In The Lap Of The Gods' but that is the only 'background' on S1 and it is exactly that, in the background and non-intrusive.  S2 has only the lightest of static on the 'spoken' intro plus 3/4 static ticks and then 'Who Wants To Live Forever' plays extremely well with again only minimal static at the start.  This is always found on this album, you cannot avoid it - that's 90s vinyl for you!  The remainder of the side is near perfect with only a handful of light dust ticks.  The 'Brighton Rock Solo' in particular is so powerful, it really is a stunning version.

'Love Of My Life' on S3 plays incredibly well for such a quiet opening track where the grooves can often be affected.  It has only minimal static on the intro and then plays nigh on perfectly with only a small number of mega light dust ticks.  'Is This The World We Created?' is very impressive and plays with great precision and clarity.  The rest of the side is faultless and 'Bohemian Rhapsody' I am pleased to say is Mint from start to finish.  What a stunning 'live' version!  'Hammer To Fall' ends the side with the same sublime quality, the power and depth again is awesome!  'Crazy Little Called Love' begins S4 with audio of the highest calibre and 'Radio Ga Ga' also plays to the same 'high end' Mint standard.  The remaining tracks cannot be faulted in any way.  As stated in my intro 'We Are The Champions' plays with superb quality and has audio that can only be described 'as new' and 'God Save The Queen' brings things to a close with no interference.  What an album!

In summary this classic 'live' album is a genuine rarity in that it plays with such 'high end' quality and that it also has such an impressive gatefold.  In my opinion this is one of strongest 'live' albums ever produced.  When you find vinyls that have been so well preserved you can easily turn them up to max without there being any distortion.  The depth and power of the audio is so dynamic and strong and you can shut your eyes and just transport yourself back to 1986, the clarity and definition really is that good!  There is a little static on a couple of intros but there is so much to admire here.  It really is a superb listen.

Visual grading

Both vinyls have an immaculate glossy sheen and in my opinion look unplayed.  There is no spindle wear and the records themselves have no marks or scratches and it took me a long time to find even a couple of very fine and faint hairlines!  You could not find better examples and the run out grooves are also extremely clean.

The Gatefold

The glossy cover is by far the finest example I have ever seen.  It wasn't exactly manufactured in a strong and robust way and yet this one has been preserved beautifully.  The edges are in near perfect order with only a couple of tiny rubs on the bottom right corner.  The wide spine is also in fantastic shape with only minimal (very minimal!) rubbing on the bottom corner.  The other corners have no wear which is a rarity and the opening edges have no handling wear either.  The front cover is in superb condition with no marking and the back cover is equally as good.  So often this fragile cover has a lot of creases around the edges but this one has only a couple of very minor ones and it is clear it has hardly been handled.  The inside of the gatefold is immaculate and overall this stunning cover easily deserves a Near Mint+ grading, it would be very difficult to find better!

The Picture Inners

The glossy inners are near perfect.  In fact one is in perfect condition and the other just has a little creasing around the thumb notch area by the top edge.

The Labels

They are practically 'as new' with no spindle wear or obvious marking and there is no writing.  The S4 label just has a faint mark by the spindle hole which was caused during manufacture.  I have seen this before.

Play tested on my Pro-Ject Essential III Turntable / B&W 684 Speakers

The records have been professionally cleaned on a Pro-Ject VC-S machine
