Description

Queen : Innuendo A2 / B2 (Original UK 1st pressing 1991)

This first pressing has a stunning clarity and depth that is so rarely found today.  There is no interference as such and is a FINAL UPGRADE copy for certain.  It has only ever been played a handful of times as there is very little spindle wear and this is confirmed by the definition of the audio.  A superb A2/B2 first press.

The cover is in lovely condition with only very minimal shelf wear and is one of the 'cleanest' you will find.  The lyric inner is also in pristine condition.

PCSD 115 // A - 2U / B - 2U / Stampers D

The audio on S2 is Mint- (track 4 Near Mint)

The cover is Ex

The lyric inner is Mint

The labels are Mint-

Visual grading

This vinyl is visually stunning and has a very impressive glossy sheen.  Under various lights I can only a handful of very faint hairlines and there are no scratches.  There is one very small mark on S2 but this has no affect on the immaculate audio as detailed below.  It is one of the 'cleanest' first pressings I have seen in a long time and there is indeed only a minimal amount of spindle wear suggesting it has only been lightly played.  The labels and run out grooves are also in superb order with no marking.

Play grading

There is barely any static on the run in grooves so you're immediately thinking this is going to play well and it does not disappoint!  The 'Innuendo' intro then plays with wonderful clarity as do the opening verses.  The audio is so strong and there is no interference at all, the playback is stunning.  The quiet 'Spanish guitar' section plays extremely well with only a minor touch of light static in the background, very minor!  As the pace quickens the audio could not be any 'cleaner' and the following multi-layered vocal section is 'as new'.  The remainder plays with stunning precision and there is no interference whatsoever, just minimal static on the fade out.  The definition of the audio on a well preserved vinyl such as this is tangible, there is no 'muddiness' to the sound at all and of course this classic has such a strong bass sound also.  This grades as Near Mint although the vast majority is better than that!

'I'm Going Slightly Mad' has superlative audio from the very first groove and again the entire track plays with great depth throughout.  There are no clicks or pops and no static or crackle either.  This is Mint audio of the highest calibre.

'Headlong' is of the same immaculate standard and again there is no 'background' at all, just pure Mint audio from start to finish.  There may not be many 'quiet' sections (!) but each note plays with unrivalled clarity.

'I Can't Live With You' is again worthy of a Mint grading as there is just nothing that intrudes on the quality of the audio.  The depth and clarity could not be any better and it's incredible to think this vinyl is approaching 30 years of age.  It has obviously not been over-played judging by the impressive definition of the sound - no distortion at all.

There is a minimal hint of barely audible static on the 'Ride The Wild Wind' intro and the audio is quite simply breathtaking!  Often underrated this track plays 'as new' and the rhythm section here is sublime as you would expect from Taylor.  You can turn this up to loud without fear of distortion which is quite rare for any 90s vinyl, another indication that it has not been on a turntable too many times.  Even the fade out plays perfectly with no dust ticks let alone any thing more.  This is an immaculate S1 for certain.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

'All God's People' plays with incredible power and depth from the very first groove and continues in the same manner.  There is no interference and once more sounds 'shop fresh' as if it was only released yesterday, not 28 years ago!  There is just a little static literally at the end of the fade out.

The classic 'These Are The Days Of Our Lives' pays testament to a vinyl beautifully preserved and rarely played.  There are no clicks or pops and only a handful of barely audible dust ticks.  Perhaps not even worthy of mention this track is as close to perfect as could be and a Mint- grade is deserving.

'Delilah' is Mint from start to finish with not one iota of interference.  It may not be everyone's favourite track but it does nonetheless play with immaculate clarity.  Audio does not get any better than this!

A real test of this vinyl is the quiet intro on 'Don't Try So Hard' as it so often has static or crackle.  I am pleased to say it plays very 'cleanly' indeed with only a couple of static ticks, the clarity is very impressive indeed.  The first chorus is 'as new' and the remainder is superb with only the odd dust tick, a 'high end' version with no obvious intrusion.  The quiet fade out has only minimal static at the end.  This is a Near Mint version without doubt.

'The Hitman' as is often the case on a 'clean' vinyl plays with remarkable power and precision throughout.  This track is often 'overlooked' but play it loud and you cannot fail but be impressed.  It plays with such resonance and definition and there is no distortion at all.  The fade out is also perfect.

I am running out of adjectives now!  'Bijou' has a clarity that is so rarely heard on a genuine first pressing.  It is so 'clean' and all I heard was a couple of mega faint dust ticks.  Absolutely stunning!  I have no hesitation in grading this as Mint- it is nigh on perfect from beginning to end.

'The Show Must Go On' provides a suitably stunning finale to this fantastic vinyl.  The audio is 'as new' the playback could not be any better.  There is no inner groove distortion and as Queen collector this is a rarity for this track on a first pressing.  This again provides further evidence of a vinyl hardly played.  It plays with immense power and depth with only a minimal hint of light static on the long fade out.  There are no clicks or pops and this all time classic has lost none of its original quality.  A Mint- end to a great album.

In summary this first pressing plays with a clarity, warmth and depth that you rarely find today.  It is a FINAL UPGRADE first press in my opinion with no obvious 'background' at all and it is easily in the top 3 that I have ever sold, and I have sold a lot!  There is not one single click or pop and barely any static.  It is such a 'clean' vinyl and it's certainly getting harder to find in this condition today as 90s vinyl was not pressed in high numbers as we all know.

The Cover

This cover is in excellent condition with only minor shelf wear.  The edges and spine are in great shape with a couple of small rubs and only one corner (lower right) has a little wear.  The opening edge has no handling wear at all.  This cover is so often discoloured but this one is very clean with just a small number of very faint 'spots' on the front cover and a faint price sticker mark.  The back cover is also in excellent order with no staining/spots and only some minor fading next to the spine.  The small crease can also be seen lower left.  Overall this is a fine example of this cover, not perfect but better than so many you see today!

The Lyric Inner

This is in perfect condition with no splits, creases or markings.  It is 'as new'.

The Labels

They are in great condition with no marking or writing and barely any spindle wear as stated.  They have lost none of their original colour and could hardly look any better.
