Queen : Hot Space A-3 / B-6 1st Press 1982
This genuine first pressing plays with remarkable audio with no intrusion as such. The clarity and depth of sound is STUNNING and there are no clicks or pops at all. All I could find were a couple of minor ticks, some light static at the end of 3 or 4 fade outs and some insignificant light static for a couple of seconds during one track. This is so close to perfect and it has clearly been very well preserved over the last 41 years. I have only graded one track as Near Mint all the others are either Mint- or Mint! A stunning album and the vinyl itself is very clean with only some of the usual faint hairlines.
The cover is in beautiful condition with barely any wear and the lyric inner is near perfect also. If you are looking for a high end version of this album then look no further, you will not be disappointed!
This is known as the original first press variation of this album. It seems A3/B3 followed later according to Discogs.

Visual description
The vinyl is in great condition and still has a lovely glossy sheen with no marks or scratches. Only under a strong light can I see a few very faint hairlines but they obviously have no impact on the audio. The labels are very clean with only very minimal spindle wear.
Play grading
The run in on S1 is so clean and then the intro on 'Staying Power' has a clarity and depth of sound that can only be described 'as new'. The opening vocal is just as impressive and it continues to play with impeccable quality and no interference. The brass mid instrumental is flawless and the sonic quality throughout is outstanding! In my opinion this should should have been released instead of Body Language and I am sure it would have placed higher in the charts! Freddie's voice is so strong and clear and this is without doubt a Mint start to the album.The rock / funk 'Dancer' also plays with stunning precision. From start to finish it plays with phenomenal clarity and power with only a couple of quiet ticks at the end of the fade out. It so often plays with some distortion but that is not the case here and Brian's work is a prime example of that. Great power and depth throughout and Mint- is more than deserved.
'Back Chat' keeps up this fine start to the album and plays with sublime quality and no interference of any kind. Once again I am very impressed by how clean and clinical the audio is - no ticks, clicks or pops and only a minor hint of static at the end of the fade out that hardly warrants a mention. This often underrated track grades as Mint- at the very least.
'Body Language' plays with exceptional quality throughout. There is just a minimal amount of light static during the quiet two second passage following the 'Baby don't talk...' vocal and a little at the end of the fade out again. The quieter 'Look at me...' section has no background and the overall clarity, depth and warmth of the audio is superb. A much maligned track maybe but you cannot blame the boys for pushing the disco / funk boundaries! Near Mint
'Action This Day' is also susceptible to distortion but this version is so strong and powerful and ends the side with highy end audio. It is one of the 'cleanest' examples I have heard and Mint- is a fair assessment of the audio.

'Put Out The Fire' on S2 provides more evidence of a vinyl only lightly played. The clarity and power of the audio is STUNNING and from the first note to the last it could not play any better. A superb Mint version.
The piano intro on 'Life Is Real' has no intrusion and Freddie's opening vocal is just as clear. From then on it plays to the same standard with no interference whatsoever - a couple of barely audible static ticks during the mid instrumental but this does not qualify as interference! The final vocal section plays to perfection and Mint- is well deserved.
'Calling All Girls' plays with tremendous power and depth and again there is no interference. There are no negatives here and Mint is the only grade I can give.
The intro on 'Las Palabras De Amor' plays very clearly (for once!) with only a couple of minor ticks and Freddie's opening vocal is as clean as it would have been when the record was first pressed. The first chorus is perfect and it continues to play with stunning precision from then onwards. Once again you can hear each note so succinctly and there is nothing to detract from the superb sound, it plays like a stylus has never run over it! Great definition - a sublime Mint- version.
'Cool Cat' plays with incredible clarity for a relatively quiet track. The sonic quality is stunning here and that is very evident with Deacon's bass line, so strong and deep. I cannot fault this track and is quite possibly the finest version I have ever listened to. No intrusion just superb Mint audio from start to finish.
The iconic intro on the classic 'Under Pressure' plays perfectly and Bowie's opening vocal is faultless as is Freddie's first vocal. It continues in the same way with no interference and for a final track the overall 'sound' is superb. This is impressive it so often plays with a fair amount of inner distortion but this is a very clean version. There is no discernible distortion and Bowie's powerful end vocal is a case in point. What sound! The familiar closing section plays very clearly also with only the bare minimum of static. A Mint- finish to this often underrated album (in my opinion!)
In summary this first pressing plays with superb audio across both sides with essentially no interference. There are no clicks or pops and only a hint of very light static for a couple of brief moments. This is a vinyl that has been so well looked after and that applies to the cover and inner also. It doesn't get much better than this!
The Cover & Lyric Inner
The glossy cover is as close to perfect as is possible! The edges and spine are flawless and as you can see from the photos the corners are super clean with next to no wear. The opening edge is pristine also. The front colour is indeed perfect with no marking and the back cover is almost as good with only the lightest of marking / fading near the top edge in the yellow section, it is very minor! Some very minor abrasions as you get with any glossy cover but this has to be one of the finest examples of this cover that you are likely to find today.
The lyric inner is in lovely condition and again near perfect. There is just one minor 'rub' on the bottom edge (not a split) and has no marking or creasing which makes a change. A stunning example.
