Back in 1981, Queen's UK record company (EMI), allowed a picture disc of Queen's greatest hits to be released. It was made in Germany, and sold in Bulgaria. Only a few were made, and production stopped. How many were made? No one knows for sure, but it quickly became one of the most sought-after picture discs out there! Long considered to be the "holy grail" of picture disc collecting, it even had a bootleg version.
How do you tell the difference? It's easy. The bootleg has two important differences. The first is the name 'Marshall' on one of the five amps completely cut off. You should see the word 'Marshall' FIVE times. And Brian May's left hand should be visible. A bit. On the bootleg, you cannot see his left hand, at all. Which one is this one? The original, of course! All the matrix numbers match up. The word 'Marshall' is shown five times. And you can see a bit of Brian May's left hand!
With the success of the Queen movie 'Bohemian Rhapsody', the world is once again re-discovering the amazing band known simply as Queen. They became really popular in the 70s, and remained so through the 80s and into the 90s. After a brief stint with Bad Company's Paul Rodgers, the band went on hiatus. They have resurfaced with Adam Lambert and still tour and play shows, to this day!
The A side of this awesome, vintage picture disc is a great shot of Queen live. Seeing Freddie, Brian, Roger, and Deacon, up on a stage, looks like the most natural thing in the world! The band's music will live on, forever, as new generations get turned on to this great music.
An absolutely must-have item for picture disc collectors and Queen fans everywhere! The vinyl itself looks fantastic! No major flaws of any kind, that I can see. No scratches, gouges, or scuffs! This has been taken care of, obviously, and is all shiny and clean. It comes in a plain, black die-cut sleeve. I'll also insure it, for free, up to the sale price.
