QUEEN Night At The Opera 1st UK PRESS - NEAR MINT/EX+
This record has been fully test played on quality hi-fi to give accurate grading. My grading is based on the UK record collector grading system. I will gladly combine postage on multiple items so check out my other records. Thanks
Label:- . EMI
Catalogue:- . EMTC 101
Details:- . Here we have an original 1975 1st UK pressing and in absolutely incredible condition. This record has only been played no more than two or three times plus my test play and has been always kept in audiophile anti-static sleeve.
The record and sleeve have all first pressing attributes. The matrix numbers are very first pressing YAX 5063-2 / YAX 5064-2, Run-Out Etchings are: ‘BLAIRS’ on both sides. The sleeve has the extra wide spine, inside the gatefold is the Garrord & Lofthouse credits with Trident logo, front cover embossed artwork
RECORD CONDITION - VERY NEAR MINT (Viewed under bright halogen spotlight, superb condition with nothing more than two very faint hairlines, both of which are tiny in length - no more than 1cm and totally non audible. Anything else visible is nothing more than sleeve brushings. Test produced overall superb sound quality but must mention the intro is a bit crackly on both sides. This is a common fault in new vinyl and is in the pressing itself, nothing to do with the actual condition of the vinyl. This background crackle soon disappears before the first tracks on each side have ended so is only two or three minutes in length. The rest is superb audio. Fully test played on Garrord 501 prototype, Rogers E40a Valve amp and Quad ESL 57 Electrostatics
SLEEVE CONDITION - EX+ (Superb, and very clean and snow white. None of the grubby marks you normally get with this white non-laminated gatefold. The only blemishes on the sleeve is a tiny surface scuff in the top right hand corner, this is less than 1 square cm in area so is not very noticable and does not show in the photos, and very mild speckling Any other blemishes are so mild, small and hard to spot as to be not be worth mentioning. The sleeve has NO ringwear, NO edgewear, NO splits or unwanted writing. The best condition I have seen of this particular album
INNER SLEEVE EX (Some minor creases at top and bottom. The bottom edge has been neatly repaired with a strip of tape so this edge may have come apart at some point.)
LABEL CONDITION - (NEAR MINT. No spindle marks on either side.)
I always reduce postage on multiple items. Each additional item will only be charged 50% the original postage cost worldwide. Check out my other rare vinyls!
ALL MY ITEMS ARE REFUNDABLE ON RETURN IF YOU ARE NOT ENTIRELY HAPPY WITH YOUR ITEM
Grading Abbreviations
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
