Description
This first press of A Night At The Opera is in fantastic condition. Under a bright light the vinyl looks barely played and I can only detect a couple of faint hairlines.
The matrix numbers are YAX 5063-2 and YAX 5064-2 with the famous Blair's etched into the dead wax, Not Mr Blair's cut as per the later presses. The stampers are MP and AO
The Garrod and Lofthouse gatefold cover is also in excellent condition with only a few minor marks. It really is a very clean looking cover with very little wear. Being a first press it doesn't have the glossy sheen of later versions and of course has the famous embossed crest. The thick spine is in superb condition also and is 100% legible.
The vinyl is Near Mint- The gatefold cover is Ex+ (almost Near Mint-)
The picture sleeve with cut corners (later copies have rounded edges) is Ex (wearing through at bottom and two inch split to the right)
The labels are Near Mint
