A Day At The Races 4U/1U early pressing

Visual grading
Under a bright light there are only a handful of very fine hairlines on each side and it is obvious this vinyl has been hardly played. There are only a couple of tiny spindle lines on each label.
Play grading
There is only the faintest of static during the 'Tie Your Mother Down' intro and it then plays with such strong and vibrant audio it ranks as one of the best versions I have heard. 'You Take My Breath Away' plays very clearly with only a few dust ticks and a little static which you expect for such a quiet track. The remaining tracks play with a quality you very rarely hear on an early pressing. 'Long Away' plays as Mint and 'The Millionaire Waltz' isn't too far behind - it plays with stunning clarity and just a minimal amount of static. 'You and I' again plays with immaculate audio, a stunning end to the side.
'Somebody To Love' has light crackle right at the beginning but soon disappears and then plays with great quality and having listened to every track I am confident in grading the rest of the side as Near Mint the quality is that good. The only interference is on 'Let Us Cling Together' that has only two clicks.
Gatefold cover
The G & L gatefold has stood the test of time very well when you consider how many are found bruised and battered! There is a little shelf wear on the edges and some corner wear but overall it is very clean. There is also a small white mark on the spine and a little sticker on the back cover. There are no marks or writing anywhere and the opening edge looks barely handled.
Picture inner
This die-cut inner is in great condition and would be Near Mint but for a tiny amount of wear to one side although the record has not worn through.
