A BEAUTIFUL AND RARE ALBUM FROM QUATERMASS, AN ORIGINAL 1970 FIRST ISSUE, A1/B2/1G/2R IN BEAUTIFUL LAMINATED GATE-FOLD SLEEVE.

  Quatermass is an album by British progressive rock band, Quatermass, first released in May 1970. It has been described as "a keyboard dominated chunk of heavy progressive rock... a popular part of the eccentric Harvest label. Based around organ, bass and drums, Quatermass is regarded as a quintessential British prog rock album, destined to remain a cult classic and also one of the first albums in the vein of progressive metal. Overall, the album is well-rounded, technically competent and complex, yet retaining a distinctive swing time rhythm as would be expected from a trio that were at their core a strong rhythm section. Throughout, the album flows easily from mid-tempo rock to avant-garde instrumental to bluesy soundscapes.   This is a first issue of the very rare Quatermass UK Album Release from 1970. The Vinyl LP is on the original Harvest Record Labels.

  Both record labels are in superb Near Mint condition, bright and undamaged record labels with just a few light signs of play around the centre of each record label.

  Side 1 stamped matrix: SHVL 775 A-1 and Side 2: SHVL 775 B-2.

  Side 1 Mother Stampers: 1 G and Side 2: 2 R.

  Both sides of the vinyl LP are in superb Excellent Plus to Near Mint condition, really clean and bright vinyl surfaces to both sides, with nothing more than just a couple of light surface hairlines visible on side, there are no scratches to either side .

  The LP plays through all tracks without faults, a really superb and clear sound quality.

  The LP comes in it’s original Harvest inner bag, and is protected in it’s original front and reverse laminated gatefold sleeve. This sleeve is a beautiful immaculate example in Near Mint condition, an immaculate sleeve, without seam splits, tears or creases, a perfect inner gate-fold centre, and with very mild LP storage signs to the reverse panel.

This is a rare album and a beautiful example of this original 1970 Stereo Quatermass Album.
