From Ibirataia, Bahia, Quarteto em Cy remain one of Brazil's most refined vocal groups - a cornerstone of bossa nova and MPB whose harmonies shaped the sound of modern Brazilian music. Formed in 1959 by sisters Cybele, Cylene, Cynara and Cyva, the quartet's precise, interlocking voices became a signature of the Elenco label's golden era, blending sophistication with unforced warmth. Mentored by Vinicius de Moraes and collaborating with the likes of Tom Jobim, Baden Powell and Caetano Veloso, they brought both polish and intimacy to every performance. Though the lineup evolved over decades, their influence endured - elegant, fearless interpreters of Brazil's musical language, forever defined by that weightless, impossible harmony.
