Description

You are viewing the following listing:

Artist: The Fall

Format: seven” single of the debut release by this amazing band titled ‘Bingo – Master’s Break - Out,’ which signed by the band on the rear of the cover!

Release year: 1978

Release label: Step Forward

Release number: SF7

Rarity: Bingo-Master's Break-Out is the only studio recording by the original Fall line-up (Mark E. Smith, Martin Bramah, Tony Friel and Una Baines, plus Karl Burns who replaced the short-lived original drummer Steve Ormrod). The recording was financed by the Buzzcocks manager Richard Boon, who planned to release it on his New Hormones label; unable to afford it, he gave the tapes back to the band. The EP remained unreleased for a year, finally coming out in August 1978. By that time, both Friel and Baines had already quit the band, as did Friel's brief replacement Jonnie Brown who designed the cover art. Not only is this a super-rare punk release, but this has also been signed by the following band members:

Mark E. Smith: vocals & production, and Mark has signed in dark blue biro-style pen (and graded as 8.5 / 10 for definition). Please note that Mark has signed the record twice!

Martin Bramah: guitar, backing vocals, production (1975 – 1979), and Martin has signed in a fine blue biro-style pen (and graded as 8/10 for definition)

Yvonne Paulett: keyboards (1978 – 1979), and Yvonne has signed in a fine blue biro-style pen (and graded as 8/10 for definition)

Mike Leigh: drums and percussion (1979) and Mike has signed in a fine blue biro-style pen (and graded as 7/10 for definition)

Condition: the record has been professionally mounted, framed and glazed, with the reverse of the cover showing the amazing signatures, which were collected at a live show in 1979. Overall condition is a strong excellent condition.

Dimensions: the framed item is 43cm x 29cm x 3cm approx.

Weight: 980grm (loose) and 1.4kg (packed)

Provenance: purchased via Omega Auctions on 30.11.2021 as lot 208. Omega is a world-class auction house and conduct their own due diligence on the authenticity of autographs. Invoice clearly states that the signatures were gained in person by the original seller.
