THE ELECTRONIC HOLE (Radish A.S.-002)

• Condition : Cover and vinyl are NM in shrinkwrap.
• Description : Very very rare LP from Phil Pearlman and cohorts, AKA Beat Of The Earth, Relatively Clean Rivers, etc. This was recorded and pressed circa 1969, after the first Beat Of The Earth LP, but Pearlman never attempted to sell or distribute _any_ copies at that time. The only ones that have ever come up for sale were obtained directly from Pearlman's stash by well-connected guys in California (you know who you are). This one comes from a heavy-duty private collection (no, I'm not ever selling my own copy). Musically, this sounds like a Westcoast hippie version of the Velvet Underground's third album- it's concise songs, not Beat Of The Earth type tribal jams, closer in feel to Relatively Clean Rivers but much more of a raw, garagy, gloomy feel. Really quite stunning, even if you hated Beat Of The Earth you might like this a lot. Back cover reprints some newspaper articles about Huntington Beach authorities closing down Pearlman's club, which was also knows as "Beat Of The Earth". Anyway, great stuff, seldom offered, and so on. I've never had another spare to sell and I don't realistically expect to ever have another in the future.
