Description

This is a very nice copy of Classic Records 180g pressing of Heifetz’s recording of Prokofieff’s “Violin Concerto #2 in G minor” and Mendelssohn’s “Violin Concerto in E minor” with the Boston Symphony Orchestra conducted by Charles Munch on 4 single-sided 180 g.  45 RPM records.  The 45 RPM set is a complete recording LSC-2314-45.  When I first bought this new, the records were cleaned with a VPI record cleaner and treated with LAST record preservative.  More recently it was recleaned with Audio Intelligent Fluids on a VPI cleaner and on an Audio Desk ultra sonic record cleaner.  It has also been demagnetized with a Furutech DeMag.  There are no scratches or scuffs but the records do have some streaks in the vinyl. The records are mis-labelled with sides 1 and 2 containing the Prokofieff concerto and sides 3 and 4 containing the Mendelssohn. Side 1 plays mostly very quiet with only 5 light ticks noted over the entire side.  Side 2 also plays mostly quietly with only 4 light ticks noted over the entire side.  Side 3 plays very quietly with only 2 light ticks noticed.  Side 4 plays mostly very quietly with 11 light ticks noticed over the side. I have only played the records a few times on various VPI tables I have owned (HW-19 MKIV, TNT 3.5, and Classic 4) using either Lyra or Benz Mico Ruby cartridges. The sound is naturally open and detailed. The covers are the original glossy jackets that Classic used for their 180g issues.    There are no seam splits but record 2 has a very slight compression on the upper left front corner.  Only side A of each LP is pressed.  Side B is blank.  For this set, only the first record has the regular 200g jacket while all other records have a plain white jacket with a sticker as was originally issued by Classic Records. Multiple records can be combined in an order to save shipping costs.
