Procol Harum Self-Titled Debut 1970 US Reissue A Whiter Shade Of Pale VG+/VG+.

For auction is a great listeners copy of the self-titled debut of British psychedelic-rock band, Procol Harum.

Originally released in the United States in September 1967 and in the UK two months later. The record is considered one of the most important and influential records in the progressive-rock sub genre. The album

features the global smash hit, “A Whiter Shade of Pale” which peaked at #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the US and topped the charts in fifteen countries including the UK even though the track did not appear on the British version of the album. “A Whiter Shade of Pale” is considered one of the anthems of the hippie subculture and the 1967 “Summer of Love”. It has sold a million copies alone in the US and 10 million copies worldwide making it one of the most commercially successful songs in music history. The album also includes the popular, “Conquistador”. This copy is a 1970 Bestway Pressing reissue. It can be indicated by the dates etched in both runouts.

Vinyl is play graded VG+. There are some barely noticeable surface marks. Side 2 label has some tiny peeling along bottom of press ring. Plays with faint background noise at times that is never overwhelming if at all noticeable. No skips or jumps. Please see pics.

Matted cover is also in VG+ condition. Minor shelf wear on corners and seams. No splits and title is perfectly legible. Light ring wear on both sides. Original London/Deram inner sleeve is included but a generic white

die-cut one is used to protect vinyl. Please see pics.
