Description
For sale is a top copy of exceedingly scarce Joyce Carr. Washington D.C. private press jazz vocal LP, "Joyce Carr Sings You Don't Know What Love Is", on a no-name black and white label. This is a top copy of this lp in every way. Cover rates NM and is in its original shrink... the only flaw being a little age toning on the edge where the shrink was cut to free the record. The vinyl also rates NM... plays beautifully from beginning to end, great fidelity throughout. LP is signed on the back and dedicated to late US Senator Lee Metcalf from Montana, a high-ranking Senate leader of the day (1960s). Inscription reads "To Senator & Mrs. Metcalf - Hope you enjoy this record from a fellow Montanan, Sincerely Joyce." The lp also comes with a signed piece of paper from Edgewood Recording Studio, where the lp was recorded. Piece of paper has Carr's address in Washington D.C. written in her hand. I have had a few copies of this lp in my time, but have never seen this paper before... possibly this was an early demo printing of the record which was shipped to Carr directly from the studio? Lp retains its original rice paper inner sleeve. A great copy of this hard-to-find jazz lp.
