ALLAN SHIERS: The Man In Me (Profile GMOR 003 UK 1974) Still undiscovered UK original only LP by UK Xian-Acid-Folk-Rocker in Duncan Browne, Tom Rapp, Wizz Jones territory and issued on tiny collectable label… Pleasant natural acoustic vibes from this likeable understated British folkie. Harmonica solos embellish strummed titles like ‘School Days’, ‘Business Man’, ‘Busking Song’ and ‘Mary Said To Joe’, with bass, drums and piano filling in the sound. ‘Looking Out My Window’, ‘Cynical Sam’, ‘Like A Child’ and ‘Maybe You’re Not Sure’ are all quiet acoustic ballads that feature delicate string-quartet backing. Fourteen songs in all, many of which are under the two-minute mark. Shiers’ gentle timid voice bears similarity to Kevin Gould, while the music suggests the quiet acoustic approach of early Mark Heard. A simple but enjoyable release from this collectible UK custom label. (Ken Scott - Archivist)

significantly from the sound…sleeve also has only slight wear, and is still in nice
collectible.
VG++ = played often with moderate surface wear and some moderate noise, still plays well…
sleeve may have medium overall wear or some ring wear.
VG+ = overall wear, but no skips of serious defects, more noisy sound during quiet passages…
sleeve is well worn, usually with considerable ring wear.
VG = plays a lot, heavy wear on record and cover…guarantee does not apply to vg- or worse
condition records.
