Prince & The Revolution, Paisley Park 7" Picture Disc Single NO TEA STAINING 1985 WEA W9052P.
OK Here we go:-
I Bought this single when it first came out in 1985, more as a curiosity than for it´s musical content, I can´t even remember playing it. I also bought a CD player that year which meant that I more or less stopped playing my vinyl collection, so my vinyl was stored very safely away in a dark cool cupboard (in a smoke & child free household).
Recently, with the resurgence in vinyl I have started going through my collection and found this gem nestled between 2 12" lps both of which had plastic album sleeves protecting them, this vinyl sandwich has (I believe) made a more or less airtight seal for Prince & his Revolution, which has meant that with the lack of air and light there has been no massive discoloration (Tea Staining) that is common to picture discs, especially this one.
I have just re-played the record quickly for the first time in nearly 40 years, the sound is pretty good for a picture disc with minor surface noise and a couple of clicks ,I have only ever played my vinyl on top quality hi-fi (Dual Turntable with a Nagaoka/AT Cartridge), the original plastic sleeve has some minor creasing in the bottom corners, which I have shown in the photos.
So there you have it, possibly one of the best unstained original copies you're likely to find (in my opinion).
