Description

An original 1st press of PARACHUTE on UK harvest from 1970. Matrix A2/B2 - 1st cut. Stampers 1H/1L. Please note the labels DO NOT hold the EMI logo which is indicative of 1st issue on this title. In fact, this copy comes from within the 1st few thousand copies ever pressed. The vinyl comes housed in an original laminated gatefold cover. We also have the original Harvest inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex) In great condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of light marks per side. One does sound [but only very briefly]. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback with two deviations. I am literally lovin' this copy - you can easily tell you are close on to those original masters...superb transparency. Someone's done a great job on the recording - you can really hear every instrument perfectly. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. No signs of background really - it is clean signalled. Jees louise - it is very addictive. Nothing really to turn your nose up at. Very crankable. The only issues are caused by a mark late on side 2. I detect 4-5 ticks in the lowkey piano intro to 'What's the Use'. And a further 2 right at the outset of Parachute. Quite frankly they are very brief and given the very high standard of playback elsewhere - no big deal at all. Highly recommended if you really care about your audio.
Cover (Ex) A really nice looking original example. The 1st copies were manufactured very solid with excellent quality lamination. It is a thing of beauty! Very flat with nothing much to spoil the aesthetic - a couple of small creases on the rear. The interior is nigh on perfect. Worth noting that opening panel [which can deform] is very solid and impressive. Slight edge wear in places [pretty minimal] and sharp openings. The spine is 100% intact. Please note there's no fading whatsoever on the spine. Overall a very nice rigid cover thanks to the manufacturing quality.
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing. No splits. bag present.
