This listing is for an original first pressing of the seminal debut album from Bristol's finest Portishead. Featuring the amazing glory box, which is one of the best covered tracks by amateur artists on You Tube and the iconic track Sour Times featured on more adverts than small print.
Very hard to find original copies of this 90s classic, snap this up while you can.
Please check out my other listings for other rarities and classics across various genres.
All of my records are play tested on a Technics SL-1200 with a Grado GF3 stylus which is quite revealing so any sound defects may be more exaggerated than on other more mainstream players. Or conversely if you are a full on audiophile I will let you judge how your set up compares and how you envisage the sound will compare.
I don't currently have access to a cleaning machine so please forgive any dust or finger marks which are on any of my records - hopefully will be investing in one at some point.
Record Appearance - VG+ Very close to NM just the odd whisper line from sleeve withdrawal. No deep marks or scratches and a nice glossy finish, save a few bits of dust. Labels are in good condition with no damage or pen marks just a few spindle marks under a bright light.
Record Audio - VG+ A solid VG+ this is a great sounding record, what vinyl was made for. Deep rich bass and crystal clear vocals. Surface noise is only minimal and limited to in between tracks and maybe the occasional quiet moment. I think the record would benefit from a machine clean and would be flawless thereon.
Record Sleeve - G Unfortunately there is water damage to the sleeve, which luckily has not affected the record. Limited to the bottom edge and stained around an inch from the edge. There is light shelf wear to the edges and corners, slightly exaggerated by the dark blue colour. Spine is in good condition with full legible titles. The sleeve is made of quite low quality card and as such under a bright light ring wear is visible. Record is stored in the original picture sleeve featuring detailed credits on each track. Unfortunately there is a little water damage on this as well, but otherwise they are in good condition with no rips or tears.
