"Wish You Were Here" is Pink Floyd ninth long player. The album was originally released on 15 September 1975. The five songs were recorded between January and July 1975 at the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London.

The songs "Welcome To The Machine" and "Have A Cigar", in which Roy Harper can be heard as guest singer, reflect Pink Floyd's views of the music industry. The titles "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" and "Wish You Were Here" are a tribute to the former band member Syd Barrett.

"Wish You Were Here" reached number one on the charts in both the UK and the USA. In Germany, the record made it to fourth place.

The songs of the new edition were remastered by James Guthrie, Joel Plante and Bernie Grundman. All reissues in the series are published on 180 g vinyl. The cover artwork is always the original design.
