Description
Bought this new back in mid 1980 having lost my 1st pressing. This one came with no black vinyl sticker- some had it- some didn't -this particular 2nd Issue did not. So its not missing it was never there. Hardly ever played as I moved across to Cd very shortly afterwards so the vinyl is in very good near mint condition. No sign of spindle wear, no scratches or surface marks, sounds really superb on my Rega P7, very detailed and dynamic, even when compared to the most recent 2016 remastered edition.
The outer cover is in a very clean and near mint condition, very slight sign of yellowing to edges but it was never bright white even when I bought it . The Inner lyric covers are also in perfect near mint condition with no edge splits or wear. A really well looked after edition that sounds as good as it looks. Obviously it has no barcode- see photo 2 above as it was produced in the mid 1980 after the initial pressings had sold out. Bar codes were on the 3rd and subsequent 80s editions but this is a bona fide 2nd Issue.
As you can see on my photos above the band members are listed below the song writing credits. Inner sleeves also feature "The Wall" design with lyrics and graphics by Gerald Scarfe.
The track order is not the same as featured on the album.
Heavy cardboard inner sleeves with rounded corners and a 9"thumb notch at the top of sides 2+4 . Sides 2+4 have the catalogue number (SHDW411),pressing number (OC-158 63410) and the record number (SHSP4111/4112) in the lower right corner.
Labels- picture labels -text around the top edge of the label starts at 7 o'clock saying " All rights of the manufacturer and of the owner of the recorded work reserved. Unauthorised public performance,broadcasting and copying of the record prohibited. Made in Great Britian. EMI Records"
