Release Information: Original issue. Band members are not listed on the inside cover. Cream cover and purple brick outlines. No bar code on cover.
Description: Gatefold cover.
Front Cover : A brick wall. The Wall is cream colored, not true white, with the brick outlines in purple-blue-grey. The cover is made of two sheets of cardboard, with seams at the top and bottom of the cover. Cardboard is heavy thickness.
Back Cover: A brick wall. There is no bar code on the back cover.
Inside Cover: The credits on the inside cover do not list the members of Pink Floyd. It only says "Words and Music - Roger Waters."
Cover Sticker: transparent sticker on the front cover that says (in black Scarfe lettering): "Pink Floyd The Wall."
Inner Sleeves: Heavy cardboard inner sleeves with rounded corners and a nine-inch thumb notch at the top. Sides 2 and 4 have the catalog number (SHDW 411), pressing number (OC-158 63410), and the record number (SHSP 4111) in the lower right corner.
Labels: Picture label.
Text around the top edge of the label starts at 7 o'clock and says:

Condition

Sleeve - EX (a couple of light marks, no splits on sleeve small split at bottom  inner sleeve for sides 1/2 - i have put the vinyl in poly lined sleeves to protect the inner. The cover sticker has become detached from the front of the sleeve) 

Record - EX (i have played it through and it sounds great throughout, there is a mark on the vinyl during 'one of my turns' but you cannot feel this with your finger and it does not sound during playback.)

 

 

I grade the vinyl & sleeves according to the Record Collector grading guide, the industry standard, see below for detailed descriptions of gradings.

"MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.

POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler."

As well as the above grades, Near Mint is often used as well; this is really for a record that appears new but is known to have been played because the label has light spindle marks or because it has come from a previous owner and is assumed to have been played by them. For records which appear to fall between the accepted grades, + and - are also often added to the grading.

In addition to the basic grading, any individual faults should be noted separately such as if an otherwise Excellent cover has a name written on it, or a 7" single is missing its original centre etc.

 

We visually check records and then test play random songs (i do not have the time to fully play grade them) and also test play any marks to check if they affect the sound quality. I will playgrade fully any records on request from people who have already placed a bid.
