Description
Up for sale is a rare first pressing of this iconic debut album from Pink Floyd, then known as "The Pink Floyd"
This has been my personal copy for a couple of months, selling as I have upgraded.
-1 -1 matrices with stamper codes 1 R on both sides, indicating mother 1, stamper 2 for both sides, so a very early copy indeed!
Vinyl - F/G - Please see photo #4 - The record is covered in marks, scratches and all sorts of scuffs. It looks like it was treated pretty poorly and it does cause a high level of surface noise, clicks and pops throughout the LP but it doesn't skip or jump anywhere and it's still quite listenable. The actual quality of the sound doesn't seem to be affected so I'd guess that most of this wear has come from poor/improper storage. Please note that this record has a very minor warp that caused my stylus to bob up and down during playback and depending on how your equipment is set up, could cause skips. It did jump when tested on an Audio Technica LP60 but played just fine on my fully leveled Technics SL-D2 with an Audio Technica VM540ML tracking at 2 grams. Please note that this is more suited as a collection filler due to it's wear but given some care, its still decently playable.
Cover - G - Luckily it's still holding together without tape, but it has it's fair share of storage and age related wear. There's a seam split on the top side of the cover which you can see in the photos and there's a fair bit of laminate wear, creases and dirt throughout with some spots of ringwear and foxing on the openings. Luckily the text on the spine is still nice and readable. Please note there's some writing on the back cover too.
