Description
An original 1st press of Relics on the UK Starline label from 1971. Matrix A1/B2. Stampers 1-GM/2-GRR. Please note 1st press on this title is easily identifiable with "Gramophone" in the perimeter label text. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Garrod & Lofthouse textured sleeve. Also included is the original company Starline inner sleeve. So 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) In lovely condition and has clearly only seen light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of light marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. It really is an impressive rendition and there's some great tracks on here and some really quality audio. Interference is, thankfully, pretty much non-existent. The only vaguely noticeable interference was a couple of crackles in the opening seconds of Track 1 - very brief indeed. Other than that we're talking about a super clean rendition and one that would be nigh on impossible to improve upon.
Cover (Ex-) Relics is one of those covers which really is difficult finding in top condition due to the lack of lamination, the white cover, and the textured surface - a nightmare! But this copy has survived the years in great form and is looking far better than most examples that surface. First, it seem to have completely avoided the usual ageing process. Front and back are nice and clean with just light handling wear evident. Edge wear is very light and the spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and lies totally flat.
Inner (Ex-) Light ageing, but no splits or markings.
