Description
An original 1st issue of Relics on the UK Starline label from winter 1971/2 [toward the end of the initial chart run]. Matrix A1/B2. Stampers 1-GT/1-GH. Please note 1st issue on this title is easily identifiable with "Gramophone" in the perimeter label text. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Garrod & Lofthouse textured sleeve. Also included is the original company inner sleeve. So 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) In lovely condition and has clearly only seen light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of light marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. It really is an impressive rendition and there's some great tracks on here and some really quality audio. Interference is, thankfully, pretty much non-existent. We couldn't detect more than a couple of crackle in a couple of isolated moments. To be frank this is a super clean rendition and one that would be nigh on impossible to improve upon.
Cover (Ex) Relics is one of those covers which really is difficult finding in top condition due to the lack of lamination, the white cover, and the textured surface - a nightmare! But this copy has survived the years in great form and is looking mighty impressive. First, it seems to have mostly avoided the usual ageing process. Front and back are nice and clean with only very light wear evident. Edge wear is light and the spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and lies totally flat.
Inner (Ex) Lightest ageing, but no splits or markings.
