Pink Floyd - Meddle - Original UK 1971 First Release/Press A/B-1U- SHVL 795 - VG

Highly collectible and sought after first UK release of this iconic album.
The catalog number SHVL 795 designates the original UK vinyl releases and subsequent 1970s repressings of Pink Floyd’s classic 1971 album Meddle, issued on the EMI Harvest Records label.

First Pressing Identification (1971) An authentic 1971 UK first pressing can be verified by specific physical and matrix variations:

  • Matrix Numbers: Stamped in the run-out groove as SHVL 795 A-1U and SHVL 795 B-1U.
  • Label Text: Features "The Gramophone Co. Ltd." text around the rim of the label, rather than the later "EMI Records Ltd." credit.
  • Sleeve Texture: The gatefold jacket is fully textured both on the outside and inside panels.
  • Patent Text: Features a specific "Patent No." text credit printed on the inner bottom right panel of the gatefold
  • First Pressings (A-1U / B-1U): Highly sought after by collectors
  • The gatefold sleeve is in Good+ to VG condition and showing storage/handling wear along the opening edge of the sleeve and along the other outer edges as well as wear along the spine edge but there are no rips or tears. The original inner sleeve is also showing signs of wear but I have also included a new anti-static/anti scratch archival quality inner sleeve along with the original inner sleeve
  • The vinyl is in VG condition with some light groove wear on both sides and some light scratches/marks on both sides of the vinyl. Please review the photos above before you purchase, thank you.

  • The album sale will also include a new outer plastic sleeve and new anti-static/anti scratch archival quality inner sleeve and will be shipped in a 12-inch cardboard mailer specifically designed for the transport of vinyl records. Two internal layers of bubble wrap will also be applied to give more security during transport.
