LP gatefold, 2° edizione del 1974 stampata dalla EMI, copertina apribile standard, logo nero in basso a destra della Toshiba e Harvest, nella rara versione con OBI doppia di dimensioni maggiori, usata per questa stampa per un periodo molto limitato. La parte sinistra è bianca con una foto in bianco e nero in basso e scritte nere in giapponese, prezzo sulla OBI di "¥2,500", mentre la parte destra è più piccola di colore bianco e rosso e riporta solo delle scritte in giapponese che dicono che l'album contiene il "Butcher's Theme", che sarebbe la canzone "One of these days", che in Giappone era usata come sigla di un programma di wrestling. Questa rara versione di OBI è formata da un unico pezzo, non è quindi formata dalla OBI normale con l’ aggiunta della OBI rossa “Japan Live Tour Memorial !!", presente su molte stampe giapponesi e usata per pubblicizzare il tour di alcuni gruppi in Giappone. Include all'interno un volumetto di 10 pagine, con la foto a colori dal vivo durante un concerto del tour giapponese del 1970, etichetta marrone-rossa della EMI.

I Pink Floyd sono stati una rock band britannica formatasi nella seconda metà degli anni sessanta che, nel corso di una lunga e travagliata carriera, è riuscita a riscrivere le tendenze musicali della propria epoca e a diventare uno dei gruppi più importanti della storia del rock. Sebbene agli inizi siano stati influenzati prevalentemente dal rock psichedelico e dallo space rock, il genere al quale appartengono è in prevalenza il rock progressivo. Caratterizzati da testi filosofici, esperimenti sonori, grafiche innovative e spettacolari concerti, hanno venduto oltre 210 milioni di dischi in tutto il mondo, di cui 74,5 milioni nei soli Stati Uniti d'America. I Pink Floyd hanno influenzato considerevolmente la musica successiva, dai gruppi progressive degli anni settanta, come Genesis e Yes, fino a musicisti contemporanei, come Nine Inch Nails e i Dream Theater. Il gruppo, nato a Londra nel 1965, è formato dal cantante e chitarrista Roger Keith "Syd" Barrett, dal bassista George Roger Waters, dal batterista Nicholas Berkeley "Nick" Mason e dal tastierista Richard William "Rick" Wright. Nel 1968 si aggiunge al gruppo il chitarrista David Jon "Dave" Gilmour, che sostituisce Barrett, costretto ad abbandonare da problemi psichiatrici esacerbati dall'uso di droghe pesanti. La band, dopo essersi fatta notare grazie a lavori di stampo psichedelico, raggiunge la maturità con Atom Heart Mother, e si afferma a livello mondiale con The Dark Side of the Moon ed i successivi album, tra cui Wish You Were Here e The Wall, che consegnano i quattro alla storia del rock. La formazione non subisce sostanziali cambiamenti fino al 1985, escludendo una parentesi in cui Wright figura solo come turnista. Nel 1985 Waters abbandona il gruppo; i membri rimanenti pubblicano successivamente altri due album in studio di notevole successo: A Momentary Lapse of Reason e The Division Bell. La formazione cessa la propria attività nel 1995, e si scioglie nel 2006, quando Gilmour nega ufficialmente la possibilità di una reunion.Con la morte di Wright, nel 2008, si spengono di fatto le speranze dei fan.

Meddle è il loro sesto album in studio pubblicato nel 1971. Venne registrato in diversi momenti tra il gennaio e l'agosto del 1971. Fu pubblicato negli Stati Uniti il 30 ottobre 1971 e in Gran Bretagna il 5 novembre dello stesso anno. Una versione rimasterizzata su CD venne rilasciato nell'agosto del 1994 in Europa e nell'aprile del 1995 negli USA. Meddle consegnerà alla storia della band due pezzi: la strumentale One of These Days e l'immaginifica suite EchoesLa prima, giocata sulle note vibrate dal basso di Waters collegato ad un'unità Echo binson (effetto eco), avvolte dalla chitarra di Gilmour, è una sorta di cavalcata (sperimentale) in mezzo alla tempesta con tanto di vento, mentre la seconda ha un incedere quasi epico, tra passaggi visionari, intermezzi funky (come in Atom heart mother) ed evoluzioni psicotrope; tutto ciò accompagnato dal testo di Waters che da il via a quella ricerca che porterà ai concept album degli anni '70, da "Dark side" a "The final cut". Tra i due brani (One of These Days apre, mentre Echoes chiude l'album) una serie di pezzi a metà tra sperimentazione e melodia tra i quali spicca Fearless, che si segnala per il testo di Roger Waters e per l'inserimento del coro (You'll Never Walk Alone) dei tifosi del Liverpool (come citato sul retro della copertina). In realtà, tutti e 3 i brani al centro del disco, niente aggiungono e niente tolgono a questo disco con pezzi così celebri e predominanti. One of These Days ("Uno di questi giorni") è un pezzo strumentale del gruppo inglese Pink Floyd. Fu pubblicato nel 1971 sul sesto album della band, Meddle. Il brano è scandito da una linea di basso martellante, ottenuto da Roger Waters collegando il suo basso ad alcuni effetti della chitarra di David Gilmour. A metà della traccia si ode l'unica frase presente, "one of these days I'm going to cut you into little pieces" ("uno di questi giorni ti ridurrò a piccoli pezzi"), pronunciata da Nick Mason. La frase è rivolta ad un disc jockey della BBC, mal sopportato da Waters. Dopo la frase, si viene investiti da una vera e propria ondata musicale: al basso si aggiungono steel guitar, organo e batteria. All'interno del pezzo è inserito un estratto dalla sigla del telefilm inglese Doctor Who. La versione presente nel film Live at Pompeii è stata rinominata One of these Days I'm Going to Cut You into Little Pieces. Lato B del singolo è la canzone Fearless. Un Loop della canzone venne usato, in Italia, dal programma sportivo Dribbling in onda sulla RAI e, prima ancora, come sigla del programma TG2 Ring.

Meddle is their sixth studio album released in 1971. Was recorded at various times between January and August 1971. It was published in the United States October 30, 1971 and in Britain on November 5 of that year. A remastered CD was released in Europe in August 1994 and April 1995 in the USA. One of These Days ("One of these days") is an instrumental piece of the rock band Pink Floyd. It was released in 1971 on the sixth album, Meddle. The song is punctuated by a pounding bass line, from Roger Waters linking his bass guitar with some effects of David Gilmour. In the middle of the track is the only hears this phrase, "One of These Days I'm going to cut you into little pieces" (one of these days you will make small pieces), given by Nick Mason. The sentence is made to a BBC disc jockey, poorly tolerated by Waters. After the sentence, you are hit by a real wave music: bass adding steel guitar, organ and drums.
