Description
All records I sell are sent in strong cruciform cardboard mailers with stiffeners.
Record condition: NM
Gatefold jacket condition: VG+
Inserts: VG+
Black inner sleeve: VG
The record has been well-looked after having only been played a few times. It plays through immaculately.
Matrices:
Side A: SHVL 8C4 A-2
Side A: SHVL 8C4 B-2
Stampers: I find these hard to read but this is my best effort:
If the matrices are at 6 o'clock on the record then (SIDE A) at 9 o'clock there is a number 2 and at 3 o'clock it reads II D (markings side by side)
(SIDE B) at 3 o'clock there is what looks like 0 II (or 0 H?) with the 0 directly above the II
There are a few spindle trails visible on the label which shows this record has been played at least a handful of times but it has been looked after by its owner. I believe I am the second owner having bought it directly from it's original owner. I myself have only played it a couple of times in about 20 years. I can only see one tiny very light scuff to the playing surface and this is towards the end of the song TIME. The whole album plays wonderfully.
The gatefold jacket has some general light signs of handling and storage. This is a 47 year old album and looks better than many of us at that age!
Important features pertinent to the record's authenticity as an original:
Gramaphone Co. text at 10 o'clock on labels
-2/-2 matrices
Dark coloured gatefold jacket. However it is lighter than later presses - see my side-by-side comparison in the last photo, this item is the one on the left! Looking at the inside of the gatefold jacket, the side on the left (the side with the front cover) the opening is sealed with a flap tucked inside. (There are variants with the flap exposed or without a flap / not sealed at all)
Inner sleeve is a distinctive polythene lined die cut black semi matt paper with white printed text stating 2 patent numbers bottom left [1125555/1072844] and 'MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN' bottom right Stickers have brown horizontal lines, and the words FasPrint and CrackBack printed on them. Note that the bottom left corner of each sticker has tiny pin marks - looks a bit like a kitten might have bitten them!
Posters (which are both very clean) and stickers all have a sort of satin finish - not quite glossy, not quite matte.
This copy does not have the circular title sticker and as far as I know never has.
International E.M.I. catalog number 1E 064 o 05249 appears in small fonts and parentheses on the cover rear along with the word stereo
Garrod and Lofthouse sleeve coded 7303 (March 1973) I've added as many photos as possible, message me for more.
This one will be sent in the absolute best packaging possible, corners protected, multiple layers of cardboard and bubble wrap.
Shipping price includes registered delivery with insurance.
I will consider sensible offers for this but to be honest I'm not in any rush to sell. If it doesn't sell I will keep it. I love owning this album and so would you.
