Description

I worked for Capitol Records in Jacksonville, Illinois from 1977-1986 and purchased this (and many, many other) album(s) directly from their employee store & warehouse sales. Many of the purchases were Special Releases, Picture Discs & Limited Editions and were kept as collectors items. This is another copy of the 1978 US First Pressing Release of "Pink Floyd - The Dark Side Of The Moon" Picture Disc LP, Capitol Records catalog #SEAX-11902. (same story) I have owned this LP since 1978 and was trying to keep it in perfect collectible condition until my brother decided he wanted to decorate our music room walls. He used a small nail through the center of the LP, (cover and all) and hung several of my Picture Discs around the room. At the time I was furious but they did look rather cool and were unique conversation pieces. It wasn't long before I took them down and returned them to my collection but the outer cellophane had torn in the process & had to be removed. Some years ago I removed the more collectible LP's from my record collection, cleaned them thoroughly inside & out and stored them separately. At that time I noticed there were holes in the inner sleeves where the nails went through so I ordered new anti-static 2mil clear vinyl replacement sleeves from SleeveCityUSA, which is what they are still in today. (I do still have the original clear sleeves & will include them if so requested). The actual LP has Never Been Played, has just a few very small scuffs from handling but does have a few pressing defects (unfilled lines, photo 8)  and is in VG to VG+ condition. The outer jacket has a few minor creases but is completely intact with no store punch or drill holes, saw cuts, etc but does have the small hole through the center from the nail it was hung with (see 6th photo). All in all this entire 38 year old LP package is in great shape and would make a fine addition to any vintage or special release LP collection.
