Description

An original analogue cut from Xmas 1974 on UK Harvest label. Approaching 2 years from 1st release. Matrix A5/B5. The vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover with the left openings sealed shut. This is how the original copies were manufactured and produce a much firmer solid gatefold. There's an original black inner sleeve too.. NO POSTERS. NO STICKERS..sorry.
Not gonna be clean enough for the really fussy hifi enthusiast. But a great starting point for someone who doesn't want to break the bank - and who would like an original copy that can start to reveal the magic of an early analogue cut.

Vinyl (Vg+) In great condition and has only seen light to moderate use. Just a couple of very light marks per side, one very superficial trail - nothing troublesome at all. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly VERYGOOD+ level of playback with deviation in a couple of spots. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with very good clarity. By and large a nice clean player - but not exclusively though. I did pick up some light static in a couple of the fussiest sectors - e.g. Breath. And a short [couple seconds] of crackle/distortion. Nothing that unpalatable - but because DSOTM is so demanding [from an audio perspective] you will notice it. Side 2 plays REALLY nice from start to finish...very clean. Overall - I'd argue this is pretty good strike rate and an excellent starting point for DSOTM.
Cover (Vg+) Very tidy and the early version covers are much nicer than the flimsy later versions [and shiny ones]. This example has nice clean surfaces with only light handling. A couple of pinpricks in the corners. Many original examples do not look this smart. The interior looks smart - no issues. Edge wear is limited and the openings are firm. The spine is in excellent order with minimal wear - much better than you typically find.
