Description

An original 1st press of AHM on the UK Harvest label from 1970. Matrix A1G/B1G. Please note the labels mention 'Gramophone' in the perimeter label text and there's no 'EMI' label present - all indicative of very 1st press. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover. The left hand panel is factory sealed and the release date and patent info is mentioned down at the foot of the interior left panel. There's also an original Harvest inner sleeve present. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Vg+) A lovely looking slab of vinyl which has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection we could make out a few light marks each side - nothing heavy, but one that does sound. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with two deviations. Intros and inbetweens are very nice and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Mostly playing very nice and clean which you really need on this title. Interference is both minor and infrequent barring two deviations. One mark toward the end of side two causes roughly 20 light ticks during some acoustic strumming. And there's a few light clicks in the section after the horn part on side 1. By and large a great rendition which will more than impress providing you can live with those two aberrations.
Cover (Vg+) It's a bit of a nightmare trying to find original copies with even a remotely decent looking cover. This one acquits itself admirably and looks better than most that surface. Relatively clean front and back with only very light handling evident. There's a very light coloured initial written in the extreme top-right of the front. It's so small and light coloured it's actually difficult to make out - I wanted to mention it though. The interior looks great with no signs of foxing or ageing at all, but please note there's initials written in the extreme top-right corner. Edge wear is reasonably light for this title and the openings are still sharp. The spine looks ok, but wear is starting to obscure some of the text. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing and the poly-bag is missing. No splits though.
