Up for bid is a rare 7" EP, "Rockin' With Red," by Piano Red. This is an original EP, released by RCA Victor (EPA-587) in 1954.  Tracks contained on this EP are: Rockin' With Red / Red's Boogie / I'm Gonna Rock Some More / Diggin' The Boogie. Here is some extra info from wikipedia:

William "Willie" Lee Perryman (October 19, 1911 – July 25, 1985), usually known professionally as Piano Red and later in life as Dr. Feelgood, was an American blues musician, the first to hit the pop music charts. He was a self-taught pianist who played in the barrelhouse  blues style (a loud percussive type of blues piano suitable for noisy bars or taverns). His performing and recording careers emerged during the period of transition from completely segregated "race music", to "rhythm & blues", which was marketed to white audiences. Some music historians credit Perryman's 1950 recording "Rocking With Red" for the popularization of the term rock and roll in Atlanta. His simple, hard-pounding left hand and his percussive right hand, coupled with his cheerful shout, brought him considerable success over three decades.

You can read more about Piano Red on wikipedia. EP is a solid VG+, with several light scuffs and some spindle wear (see pictures). There is some light surface noise (some crackle). EP is extremely clean and retains a nice gloss. Stamped matrix info reads E4VH-0750-1S / E4VH-0751-1S. Interior labels have some spindle wear and light rub wear. Cardboard picture sleeve is VG+, with no seam splits. There are small spots of discoloration on the front and back of the jacket (see pictures). Color on the front remains bright and the front retains a nice gloss. I have found history of only one other copy of this particular EP (with the red colored picture sleeve)having ever been sold on Ebay. Don't miss your chance to pick up this extremely rare EP!
