Description
Artist Peter Hurd sings his choice of ranchera songs, or (according to Hurd) “earthy songs of mariachi bands and wandering singers of Old and New Mexico,....Subject matter runs a wide gamut: love, deceit, death, allegory, narratives...with a background of Mexican ranch life”. This 10-inch LP was released in 1957 by Folkways Records and includes a 12-page booklet in a heavy stock, double-pocket record album with the cover by Peter Hurd.
This record has been cleaned and play graded. The record surfaces are rated as VG+, with clean surfaces. The album cover is in VG+ condition - the front cover is unmarked except for light ring wear. The back cover is also unmarked. The 12-page booklet is in pristine condition. The upper seam and spine are intact, with no tears or splits. The lower seam has a 3 inch split at the opening (see photos). The labels are clean and unmarked, with slight spindle wear.
