On offer here is probably the worldwides rarest of all Peter Gabriel's official vinyl releases
This is a UK 12" release of Shock the Monkey
Standard releases of this had the Bside Soft Dog (Cat Number Shock 12)
There was a very small number of these issued with a different vinyl (catalogue number Shock 350) which has an Instrumental version of Shock the Monkey (which has only ever been available on this ultra rare vinyl) instead of Soft Dog
The sleeve is identical to the standard release (even states Shock 12) it was just the vinyl that was substituted so it was a kind of Willy Wonka golden ticket lottery whether you were lucky enough to get one
Finding one was nigh on impossible back in 1983 and these hardly ever surface for sale nowadays
This is that rare and reletively unknown that most Gabriel discographies that have appeared in various books and magazines over the years dont even mention it.
The vinyl is in EX- condition
The sleeve is in good condition (there is a bit of writing on the top left - someone has written £25) but as I have already stated the sleeve is no different to the standard release and you could replace this by getting a mint copy of the standard issue and replacing it (this would cost you only a couple of pounds)
Its the vinyl thats the star here.
This is a superb collectable for the serious Peter Gabriel collector - Don't miss this you may never get another opportunity to obtain one - I don't expect this to stay available for very long
