Description
Peter Bellamy - Oak, Ash & Thorn - Original 1970 Argo LP ZFB11 together with ultra rare 1971 songbook
This auction is for an original vinyl copy of the now hard to find Oak, Ash & Thorn - a collection of songs from the 'Puck' stories by Rudyard Kipling - recorded by folk legend Peter Bellamy and released on the Argo label in 1970. The album also features contributions from Royston Wood, Heather Wood and Robin and Barry Dransfield.
What makes this version even rarer is that it also includes the original songbook containing all of the words and music from the LP together with some wonderful illustrations by Peter and Anthea Bellamy. This was originally published by Robbins Music Corporation in 1971 a year after the release of the LP.
Also included (as shown in the pictures) is an original compliment slip from the publishers - Robbins Music Corporation - which also has Peter Bellamy's name typed onto it, so looks as though it may have originated from the great man himself.
The vinyl is in very good plus condition. There are a few light surface marks visible but these don't affect the overall sound quality. The sleeve is in excellent condition, as are both labels, with no scuffs, tears or writing on them. The songbook is in absolute mint condition.
The album and book will be posted in a Wrapro professional record mailer.
