Pete Townshend, I Am test pressing The Who psych










Pete Townshend, I Am test pressing LP. Cover is plain white with normal where for its age . Record is VG+ with a few light scuffs. There is no marking on the label. After listening to the record it was determined to be Pete Townshend , I Am LP ( see details below). The give away is the long version of Baba O'Riley and the BABA in trail off wax.

 

I Am is a collaboration concept album by Pete Townshend and friends pressed in 1972. The album includes the original version of "Baba O'Riley" played by Townshend alone without lyrics, which, at 9:48, is almost twice as long as the augmented version which opens Who's Next. I Am was produced as a tribute to Meher Baba. Other albums by Townshend and friends dedicated to Meher Baba include Happy Birthday, With Love, and Avatar (a compilation of the previous three albums, later released as Jai Baba)[1].
