Pearl Jam Ten Ltd Edition Basketball Picture disc 1992 VIEW DESCRIPTION.
As the auction title suggests, here we have a copy of the Pearl Jam - Ten LP from 1992 on Epic Records which was a limited edition picture disc in the style of a Basketball in the original plastic sleeve.
I am the original and only owner of this record from new.
PLEASE READ THIS FOLLOWING DESCRIPTION AND VIEW THE ATTACHED PICTURES CAREFULLY.
As this is from 1992 and I know for certain it had played I play tested it again today for the first time in donkeys years as there was no way I'd list it without knowing exactly what condition it was in, plus also, no matter how much you hold a picture disc or coloured vinyl LP up the light, you simply can't see any damage or scratches.
So the following is an accurate description from today after being played on a very good record deck.
Overall, I was very pleasantly surprised, it's not too bad at all for a 30 year old record that I knew I'd played back in the day.
This is a list of the flaws.
There is an approx 4 inch split to the plastic cover which is on the left hand side as you look from the front and is shown in PICTURE 7. So please look closely at that.
The intro and outro grooves on side 1 are fine, just some light crackling as the record runs out.
There is ONE POP and only one on track 3.
The is a break in the song on track 4 and crackling can be heard for roughly 10 seconds and no more. There is a crackle for 2-3 seconds later on in the track.
Track 6, the opener on side 2 is the most problematic track on the album where there is a thud early in the opening crackles and there are patches of light crackles during the track, bit no more pops. This is the worst flaw.
There are 5 seconds of light crackles during track 8, no thuds or pops.
Track 9 has about 10 seconds of crackles , but no thuds or pops.
Track 10 has crackles early on. this is the second most flawed track, duration of about 20 seconds.
There are noticeable crackles to the outro grooves when the album ends.
That is the extent of the problems, which isn't too bad for an album that's 30 years old.
It's vital that you read the above.
I always try to grade fairly and from the point of view of a buyer.
Overall, on strict grading I'd say this is VG+, if you bid on the basis that it's no worse than 6.5/10 and that's my v strict grading, then I think you will be happy.
