Description

Baron Elmo Enterprises proudly presents a vinyl treasure sure to thrill devotees of alt-rock titans PAVEMENT: Brighten the Corners, released in 1997 by Matador, now long unavailable in this format. This was the final album from this much-missed band… and it will always sound better and look cooler in its original vinyl format. This copy includes a beautiful full-color insert/lyric sheet, plus several bonus goodies that most copies of this record don't have. 1) a promotional poster for the album, depicting a variation on the artwork on the lp's back cover, 2) a couple of cool Brighten the Corners stickers, and 3) an amazing promotional postcard with a photo of visual artist Steve Keene (whose paintings adorn the cover of Pavement's Wowie Zowie lp) surrounded by "Shady Lane" standup trees he made to promote this album's first single. The record itself is pressed on deliciously thick vinyl. Pavement definitely maintained their winning streak with this most excellent lp – a holy explosion of guitars, flavored with enormous hooks that ring through your head for weeks and topped by the seductive phrasemaking of frontman and slacker deity Stephen Malkmus. Ho hum, yet another classic from one of the great bands of the last two decades… and here is a chance for you to score an original vinyl copy with some cool bonus goodies. The record is in gorgeous, near-mint shape… as is the cover, stored from the first in a plastic sleeve so as to maintain its luster.
