Private press lp 12" IN THE MAGIC GARDEN by Paula and Carole. Self-released 1978 to the hysterical delight of NY-area kids (Cap Productions, CAP-1). If you were born in the 70's, you very likely scrambled home after school to watch local television programming of like vintage no matter where you grew up, the kind hosted by folk singers and storytellers wearing embroidered denim.  I'm a Patches Pal myself but anyone that grew up in the 70's will readily identify the iconography of period children's television, complete with mushrooms and beanstalks. Dig the Native Funk and Flash. Paula looks like my 6th grade Egyptologist home-room teacher, right down to her uni-length pig-tails. Their unthreatening approach captures the sunshine-y psychedelic bubblegum flavor of the time. I haven't seen the show but I gather it isn't nearly as frightening as HR Pufnstuf, or Charles Nelson Reilly in Lidsville.
This copy is complete with printed insert and coloring poster, which is partially colored-in with crayon.
