Description

An original 1st pressing of McCartney's Debut from 1970. Matrix 2U/2U - very 1st cut. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in a very 1st issue cover. What are the distinguishing characteristics of the very 1st cover?..Ok, heavier card construction, a sealed opening on the left-side, and down in the bottom-right of the rear it states "Gramophone Company / Hayes". Also included is the original white patent number inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In great condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks either side, nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly  EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. The audio delivered from this genuine early 1st press is stunning - lovely transparency and detail. All we could detect were a few crackles in a couple of isolated spots, and a couple of ticks in the closing seconds of 'Every Night'. All together a very fine rendition from this original 1st press.
Cover (Ex-) In great shape and has clearly been carefully looked after down the years. Lovely shiny front and back with a couple of small creases on the front and a couple of larger ones on the rear. The interior is in lovely condition with slight cracking to laminate on the inner spine - very common. Edge wear is very light and the spine is intact. The text on the spine is all legible, but there is a fold running down the centre of the spine [very common]. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Couple of side splits which have been taped up.
